Joseph Patrick Connolly, 84, of Old Bridge, NJ, formally of Forest Hills, NY, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, December 12th, 2018, at the Bayshore Hospital, Holmdel, with his dear family by his side. Joseph, born April 20th, 1934 was raised in New York until he moved to Old Bridge, NJ with his wife Maria (Hanni) in 1972. Joseph served our country proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He truly enjoyed wood working, building bird houses and gardening in his yard. Joseph would often bake his famous Irish soda bread he and his family enjoyed so much. He was an Aviation Supervisor, working for the Newark International Airport for over 30 years before retiring in 2004.

Joseph is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Ellen and sisters, Mary and Kathleen. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maria (Hanni); cherished children Christina (Michael) Greaney of Old Bridge, NJ and grand children Brendan and Aidan; Steven (Dawn) Connolly of Old Bridge, NJ and grand children Jordan, Reagan, Taylor; Sisters, Peggy Connolly, Eleanor Howland and Elizabeth Mitchell; he will be remembered by all and always be in our hearts.

A memorial mass will be held Monday, December 17th, at 10AM at Most Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 133 Amboy Road, Matawan, NJ. (Please click the “Service Details” tab above for directions). Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879. Cremation is private.
