Luis Cruz

Luis Angel Cruz transitioned peacefully on Friday evening, August 6th, 2021, at the age of 62. He was raised in the lower east side of Manhattan where he lived with his parents Luis and Lydia and his younger brother, Jose. Luis was a graduate of Seward Park High School and started working at the NY Stock Exchange shortly after. He met his wife, Evelyn in 1985 and they quickly fell in love! He proposed and got married in 1986. Luis eventually moved to NJ with his wife to raise three daughters Maria, Jalissa and Christina. He retired in 2014 and welcomed three beautiful grandchildren shortly after Cyrus Jr., Bella Rose and Laila Blue. Luis will be remembered as a tremendous husband, devoted father, adoring grandfather, loyal brother, loving uncle and beloved cousin.

Luis is predeceased by his parents Luis Cruz and Lydia Borerro. He is survived by his brother Jose Cruz; beloved wife Evelyn Cruz; daughters, Maria, Jalissa and Christina.; son-in-laws Sean Ogunnoiki and Cyrus Williams; and his adored grandchildren CJ his prince, Bella his angel and Laila his pumpkin. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm for a celebration of Luis’s life. In lieu of flowers we ask that you make donations on behalf of Luis to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
