Maria Velez

Maria C. Velez, 79, of Parlin, NJ passed away peacefully at the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy, NJ on April 30th, 2021, with her dear family at her side. Maria was born in Ecuador in 1942 to Aida and Tarquino Barrezueta. She lived in Parlin, NJ most of her life and was a very active member of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in South Amboy. Maria loved watching Soccer (Real Madrid), listening and dancing to music but most of all, loved spending time with her family. She as a truly remarkable, loving and compassionate person who will be deeply missed.

Maria is survived by her husband Angel Velez, married 52 years. Son, Jose Luis Velez; daughters, Patricia Velez and Paola Delgado; brothers, Pepe and Pedro; sisters, Francisca, Dana, Esperanza, Carlota, Maria Luisa, Betty and Lorena; grandchildren, Yohana Saravia, Jonathan Saravia and Gabriela Velez; and many dear friends.

Relatives and friends are invited from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM to Raritan Bay Funeral Service, 241 Bordentown Avenue, South Amboy, NJ 08879 on Sunday, May 2, 2021, for a celebration of Maria's life. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Sacred Heart (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church), 531 Washington Avenue, South Amboy, NJ.
